Supporting Us Locally
We've been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from our local community. Many of you have asked how you can help in practical ways, and we're deeply grateful for your willingness to stand with us during this time.
Local Support Coordination
To help organize local support efforts effectively, our dear friend Amy Merkley has graciously offered to serve as our local support coordinator. If you'd like to help in any way, please reach out to Amy at [email protected].
Ways to Help Locally
As we begin this journey, there will be various ways our local community can offer support. Amy can help coordinate:
- Meal arrangements for our family
- Transportation assistance to appointments
- Help with the girls' activities
- Other practical needs as they arise
Important Considerations
As we navigate this journey, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- Please remember that Phoebe has Celiac disease, so any food arrangements need to be strictly gluten-free
- During treatment, Emily's immune system may be compromised, so we'll need to be extra careful about illness exposure
- Our needs may change as we progress through treatment, so staying in touch with Amy will help ensure support is coordinated effectively
Visiting
While we love seeing our friends and family, there may be times during treatment when we need to limit visits to protect Emily's health. We'll keep everyone updated through Amy about the best times and ways to visit.
A Note About Communication
To help us manage communications and coordinate support effectively, we ask that you:
- Contact Amy first for any offers of help or support
- Understand that we may not be able to respond to all messages immediately
- Check this website for general updates about our journey
“We are deeply grateful for our local community. Your willingness to help means more than we can express.”
